RAW Thoughts And Results As It Happens 10/20/08

   No matches announced for RAW yet, that I am aware of.

Diva tag team match starts off the show.  Kelly Kelly/Candice Michelle vs. Jillian Hall/Katie Lea.  Kelly really needs to stop doing that backflip counter, it is getting really annoying.  Started off slow, but picked up at the end.  Candice broke up Jillian’s pin on Kelly, then Kelly hit Jillian with her finisher to get the win.  Winners: Kelly Kelly and Candice Michelle.

Now they are showing a video of the Batista/HBK lumberjack match from last week and Jericho vs. Punk with Batista as the special ref.  Don’t get me started on the ending of this match.

After they came back from the video, they said Jericho has something to say next.

Back from commercial, Jericho is headed to the ring.  Jericho got to ringside and made Lillian introduce him as World Champion.  Did you know Jericho beat The Rock and Stone Cold in the same night?  Jericho says he wants respect.  Batista interrupts Jericho, he is coming out.  Batista says you don’t demand respect, you earn it.  Batista says that if Jericho beats him at Cyber Sunday, then maybe people will respect him.  Here comes Adamle.  He says save it for the PPV.  Adamle told Jericho and Batista will face the same 6 opponents in a gauntlet match.  He then got real quiet and repeated himself because he forgot what he was supposed to say, Batista was in the ring laughing.  Adamle had to look at his clipboard for notes.  Horrible shit right there.  Laughable.

Here comes JBL.  He rambles on about nothing, then Austin’s music hits.  Its Stone Cold Steve Haastin.  JBL says he couldn’t lace his boots, Haastin did the “WHAT” ordeal.  Its a match.  Haas hit the Lou Thesz press, and a couple other Austin trademarks.  But he was eventually hit with a huge boot then a clothesline from hell.  Winner: JBL.  After the match, JBL used “and thats the bottom line” gimmick mocking Austin.  I’d like to see Stone Cold on the show tonight.

Rey Mysterio vs. Snitsky.  This should be interesting.  Mysterio just squashed Snitsky in a very short match.  He hit all his moves, the 619, the splash and got the win.  Winner: Rey Mysterio.

They are showing a video celebrities talking about John Cena. I felt awkward seeing The Jonas Brothers talking about him.

CM Punk/Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz/John Morrison is next.  Miz and Morrison cut a great promo before the match.  They talked shit on DX and turned, “are you ready?” into “are you 50″, great stuff.  Punk had Morrison in the GTS, but it was in the corner of Miz and he tagged himself in and as Punk hit the GTS, Miz rolled up Punk and got the win.  Winner: The MIz and John Morrison.  It was an OK match.  It got alot of time, I thought it would’ve been better.

After the match there was an Adamle/Jericho segment backstage, but it was such a waste of time I am not even going to talk about it.

Santino is coming out, with a guitar, wearing a kilt, and face painted like Goldust.  Santino just said way too much funny shit for me to even recap.  You need to watch RAW just for this segment.  Here comes Jim Duggan.  He calls Santino a flash in the pan.  Santino laid out Duggan with the guitar.  A piece of the guitar must’ve hit Santino, because he is bleeding from his mouth all over the place, legit leaking.

Cryme Tyme vs. Ted Dibiase/Cody Rhodes w/Manu.  Match never even really started.  All 3 of the heels beat down Cryme Tyme and they cut to commercial.

This is hilarious.  The voting for this year’s Cyber Sunday is so confusing, even Lawler who is trying to explain it doesn’t know.  He thought you texted the vote for the Taker/Show match, but its actually an online vote.

Jericho and Batista are out for their gauntlet match.  Regal is the first opponent.  Batista is facing him.  This is one of the dumbest match ideas ever.  Batista hits a spine buster then the Batista Bomb and pinned him.  Now Jericho has to beat him.  Jericho hits the code breaker right away and pins Regal, also.  Mark Henry is next.  I got a feeling Kane is the final opponent.  This could be one of the worst RAW main events ever.  Jericho is facing Henry first.  Jericho grabbed the World Title and hit Henry with it, the ref saw it and DQ’d him.  So Henry beat Jericho.  Now Batista has to face him.  Batista hit him with a spinebuster and covered him to get the win.  Batista 2-0, Jericho 1-1.  Jericho is starting the next match vs. Kane, just like I predicted (it was obviously him).  They cut to commercial. This has been a horrible RAW.  If the purpose was to hype Cyber Sunday and get people to buy it, it did the complete opposite.  This made me actually not want to buy it.  Kane hit Jericho with a huge boot and pinned him.  Batista then immediately speared Kane and got the win.  Winner: Batista.  I guess they want to make it look like Batista is going to win Sunday, but I don’t think he will.

Overall, a throwaway RAW.  If I missed it, I wouldn’t have been mad.
