ECW On SciFi Thoughts and Results 9/30/08

Tiffany starts of ECW in the ring with Teddy Long and she introduces Matt Hardy and Mark Henry next.  Long says he wants to give each man the time to talk before their match this Sunday at No Mercy, crowd is completely silent.  Henry says that nobody beat him for the ECW title and Sunday he will right all of the wrongs.  Matt says he is going to prove himself at No Mercy, then The Miz and Morrison come out.  Morrison calls Bourne and Ricky Ortiz nerds and say that they want them in a match tonight.  Long says that it will be Morrison/Miz/Henry vs. Matt Hardy/Bourne/Ricky Ortiz.

Jack Swagger vs. WCW legend, Lenny Lane.  If they are going to do anything with Swagger, he definitely needs new gear.  He looks super generic.  Swagger hit a Doctor Bomb for the win in a 2 minute squash where the crowd was completely dead.  Winner: Jack Swagger.  After the match Tommy Dreamer ran in and chased off Swagger because of his attack last week.  The announcers inform us that Dreamer is in the next match after the commercial break.

Tommy Dreamer vs. Mike Knox.  Dreamer tried to come off the 2nd rope and Knox hit him with a sick Clothesline right in the face.  Crowd is picking up a little bit for this match.  Dreamer got control of the match and went for a shoulder block in the corner, but Knox moved and Dreamer went into the ring post.  Knox then hit his version of the Shellshock.  Winner: Mike Knox.  Swagger then came out and laid out Dreamer with his finisher.

They just played that Wrestlemania video again, promoting the airing of Wrestlemania Thursday on MyNetwork TV.  Now they are running down the No Mercy card.  It really doesn’t look all that appealing to me.

The Miz/John Morrison/Mark Henry vs. Evan Bourne/Ricky Ortiz/Matt Hardy.  I don’t watch ECW that often and haven’t in months so I don’t know if they have already wrestled, but a Morrison/Bourne singles match would be insane.  Just went to commercial.  This has been a real good match so far.  Henry hasn’t been in yet, that might have something to do with it.  Fucking great match.  Henry hit Bourne with The World’s Strongest Slam.  Winners: Mark Henry, The Miz, and Morrison.

If I could go back in time, I would’ve just watched the main event and skipped the rest of the show because it was absolute shit.  The main event though was off the hook.
