ROH “New Horizons” PPV Results and Thoughts

ROH - “New Horizons” Results

PPV starts off with Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black in the ring saying that for the first time on ROH PPV, the tag belts won’t be defended.  Out comes Jay Briscoe and the returning from injury, Mark Briscoe and they clear the ring.  Jay gets the mic and says lets do this, AOTF walks to the back but they are met at the curtain by Aries who attacks them both and they go to the back.  Briscoes are in the ring with Prazak and he tells them they have stand by opponents to face.

ROH’s Return To Florida Postponed

ROH has postponed their events in Coral Springs, FL on 10/10 and Orlando, FL on 10/11.  They hope to have dates for the rescheduled events in 2009 next week.  Tickets for the postponed events will be honored (no pun intended) at the new events.

There certainly are alot of pissed off people on the ROH board.  I don’t blame some of them, but the others are just being whiny bitches.  Shit gets canceled and postponed all the time.  ROH has a good track record of putting on events when they say they are going to.  Yes, they have moved venues on short notice, even cities, but they always came through in some way.  Survival Of The Fittest 04 was moved to Philly and I paid $15 for front row.  Doesn’t get any better than that.

ROH Newswire 9/22/08

September 22nd: Kevin Steen & El Generico are the new ROH World Tag Team Champions. They defeated Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black last Friday in Boston to win the belts in one of the most emotional ROH World Tag Team Title contests in history. The Boston crowd took this match of the year candidate to the next level with reactions that had the floor shaking. You will be able to see it on pay-per-view in November. ROH Newswire 9/18/08

September 18th: It doesn’t get any bigger than this weekend. Tomorrow (Friday) will see ROH tape PPV #9 when it returns to Boston at the Case Gym on the beautiful Boston University Campus on 285 Babcock Street with a zip code of 02215. Then on Saturday ROH returns to Philadelphia, but this time the show will be at the historic New Alhambra/former ECW Arena on 7 Ritner Street with a zip code of 19148. Belltime for both nights is 8pm and tickets will be available at the door in both Boston and Philadelphia. It looks to be a very tough weekend for ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness. He will defend the title in Boston against Roderick Strong, who has come close to winning the World Title in the past. Strong is a definite threat to the title. The winner of McGuinness vs. Strong in Boston will immediately put the title on the line in Philly against El Generico, who is one of the most popular athletes in ROH. Generico’s high-flying, innovative offense can defeat anyone at anytime. He showed a lot of heart in taking McGuinness to the limit last month in Cleveland. Generico is very capable of scoring the upset in Philadelphia. Get your tickets at the door in both Philly and Boston and see if McGuinness can continue his momentum as ROH World Champion.

1A) In the dark match Tetsuya Naito & Yujiro defeated Genba Hirayanagi & Kotaro Suzuki in a wild match. This will be a bonus on the DVD of tonight’s event.

1) The lights went out and the music started and the ROH show was underway. Austin Aries crashed Bobby Cruise’s open and after the happenings of last night demanded that his match against Tyler Black start immediately. Aries defeated Black with the Last Chancery, but after the match Jimmy Jacobs put out Aries with the End Time and promised more chaos and said that he would win the World Title in the main event.
