TNA No Surrender Results 9/14/08
Booker T is out of the main event, because he didn’t make it to Toronto due to Hurricane Ike. They have turned the previous 4 way match for the TNA Title to a three way with, Samoa Joe defending against Christian Cage and Kurt Angle.
Sting started off the PPV by cutting a promo, saying at Bound For Glory he will be challenging the winner of the main event tonight, for the TNA Title. He compared himself to Bret Hart 10 years ago, saying he is looking for respect.
First match of the night is, Lance Rock/Jimmy Rave/Christy Hemme vs. Shark Boy/Curry Man/Super Eric. Sharkboy hit Christy with a Stunner and Curry Man pinned her to get the win for his team. Mostly a comedy match.
The Falls Count Anywhere match with Awesome Kong vs. ODB is on next. Kong drove ODB through a table to get the win. Shitty brawl.
Christian then did a promo backstage, saying he was raised about an hour from the arena. He said the first time he won the title, all the dues he paid were worth it. He then said tonight is going to be better than the first time he won the title, because all of his family and friends are in attendance.
Team 3D vs. Matt Morgan/Abyss is on. Another shitty match. Abyss hit D-von with a Black Hole Slam for the win. After the match Bubba hit Morgan with a chair, then threw it to Abyss to make Morgan think he hit him. Morgan got pissed and walked out.
Petey Williams defends his X Division title vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir and Consequences Creed next. “You Screwed Bret” chants at Earl Hebner who was reffing the match. Williams hit Creed with the Canadian Destroyer, but Sheik pulled him out of the ring and pinned Creed himself. Best match of the night so far. Crowd was totally into Petey.
Taylor Wilde vs. Angelina Love for the TNA Knockout’s Championship is next. Kip James did a run-in and Rhino, saved Wilde and gored James. Wilde hit a Northern Lights Suplex on Love for the win and retained her Knockouts Title. Quick match.
Jay Lethal vs. Sonjay Dutt in a Ladder Match is next. Whoever gets the ring that is hanging above the ring first, is the winner. Match of the night, up to this point. Lethal was caught in the ladder and Val let him loose, but then gave him a shot to the dick, and Sonjay got to the ring and won the match. Post match saw Dutt and SoCal Val get all freaky with eachother.
Beer Money vs. LAX for the TNA Tag Titles is up. Jackie threw powder into Homicide’s face, then Roode hit Cide with a Fisherman’s Suplex to get the win and retain the Tag Titles. Pretty good match. Salinas wasn’t ringside and they claimed Jackie kicked her ass in a bathroom.
Frank Trigg vs. AJ Styles is on now. Crowd shit on this. At one point, Styles got legit hit and his eye swelled up a ton. It was billed as a “MMA Match”. Styles accidentally low blowed Trigg and the match was declared a no contest. Styles attacked Trigg with a Singapore cane after the match.
Joe was being interviewed backstage and he said that Sting wants respect, but where is he on the house shows, trying to bring TNA to the next level. He said Sting is one of the highest paid men in the company, but he sits home and works the least. He said once Sting starts working as hard as he does, then he will respect him. Joe says he wants Sting to come to the ring tonight.
Main event is next. Samoa Joe defends the TNA Title vs. Christian Cage and Kurt Angle. Just as the match was about to start, Sting came out. Joe ran to meet him, they brawled until security and AJ Styles broke it up. The end of the match saw, a ref bump, Angle had Joe in the Ankle Lock. Jarrett then came out, hit Angle with a guitar, followed by a Muscle Buster from Joe. He pinned Angle to retain his TNA Title. Good match.
So its Sting vs. Joe as the main event at Bound For Glory.
