ROH “New Horizons” PPV Results and Thoughts

ROH - “New Horizons” Results

PPV starts off with Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black in the ring saying that for the first time on ROH PPV, the tag belts won’t be defended.  Out comes Jay Briscoe and the returning from injury, Mark Briscoe and they clear the ring.  Jay gets the mic and says lets do this, AOTF walks to the back but they are met at the curtain by Aries who attacks them both and they go to the back.  Briscoes are in the ring with Prazak and he tells them they have stand by opponents to face.

TNA No Surrender Results 9/14/08

Booker T is out of the main event, because he didn’t make it to Toronto due to Hurricane Ike.  They have turned the previous 4 way match for the TNA Title to a three way with, Samoa Joe defending against Christian Cage and Kurt Angle.

Sting started off the PPV by cutting a promo, saying at Bound For Glory he will be challenging the winner of the main event tonight, for the TNA Title.  He compared himself to Bret Hart 10 years ago, saying he is looking for respect.

First match of the night is, Lance Rock/Jimmy Rave/Christy Hemme vs. Shark Boy/Curry Man/Super Eric.  Sharkboy hit Christy with a Stunner and Curry Man pinned her to get the win for his team.  Mostly a comedy match.

WWE Unforgiven 2008 Results and Thoughts

The ECW Championship Scramble is on first.  Matt Hardy and The Miz are out first.  Chavo is out next.  He immediately goes to the top rope and pins Matt Hardy with a Frog Splash.  Matt pinned Chavo, so now he is ECW Champion.  Here comes Mark Henry.  Mark Henry pinned Chavo, so now he is champion again.  Crowd is quiet as hell and the announcers are trying to come up with reasons why.  Here comes Finlay.  Finlay pins Hardy.  Matt Hardy pins The Miz, hes intermin ECW Champion again.  Miz is bleeding from his face.  Matt spent the last minute just throwing everyone out of the ring and breaking up pinfalls so he could retain the title.  It worked.  Winner: And New ECW Champion, Matt Hardy.  I don’t even know what to say about the match.  It wasn’t bad but there was just too much going on.  It was hard to enjoy.  I think it could’ve been better if everyone started the match at the same time.

WWE Unforgiven 2008 Preview

This year’s Unforgiven doesn’t really look like it will be entertaining, except for the HBK/Jericho match.  Why they are having three of the same matches is beyond me.  I see the Smackdown Scramble being the best of the trio.  There are only six matches announced so maybe they throw in a Beth or Santino match or something,  maybe a promo.  Click below to read the rest of the preview.

WWE Summerslam 2008 Thoughts

A badass set on the stage.  A huge marquee.  Just like I had in my preview, Hardy/MVP opens the show.  Lets see if I get the second part right and Hardy wins.  Jeff has his hair in braids.  Son of a bitch, MVP got the win.  Shelton Benjamin came down and distracted Jeff when he was going for the Swanton, Jeff dove onto Shelton instead, and went back in the ring for the Swanton on MVP but missed, MVP then kicked Jeff in the head and pinned him.  Winner: MVP

Santino and Beth are in the back with Maria.  Santino says that he grew the unibrow because it drives Beth crazy.  Then Beth grabs him and looks at Maria and tells her that Santino is all hers, referring to Maria being Santino’s ex.  Santino can say anything and be funny.

Mickie James/Kofi Kingston vs. Santino Marella/Beth Phoenix is next.  This was fucking great.  Santino got DDT’d by Mickie, but Beth came up from behind and hit Mickie with her finisher.  After the match, Beth wait and woke up Santino who had no idea he had won the match and is new IC Champion.  On the way to the back Santino got on Beth’s shoulders and they posed, AWESOME.  Winners: Beth Phoenix, New Women’s Champion and Santino Marella, New Intercontinental Champion.

Here comes HBK and his wife is with him.

WWE Summerslam 2008 Preview

Summerslam is tomorrow.  Its a loaded card.  The first Summerslam I ever ordered was 1991 and that is still one of my favorite PPVs ever.  This show will not surpass that, but it will be damn good.  The first ever Cena/Batista match, Hell In A Cell, Santino/Beth.  I am really looking forward to it.  I was pretty good with my GAB predictions, lets see how I do with Summerslam.

ROH - Respect Is Earned II PPV Results

Philadelphia, PA

Taped 6/7/08

Lenny Leonard and Dave Prazak are backstage in Philadelphia and introduces us to ROH’s second edition of their signature event, Respect Is Earned.  To celebrate, they show a video of the happenings in the past year.

They show the video from Injustice, where the Briscoes won the Tag Titles from the Remorse Corps.  But then 1 week later, in Chicago at Return Engagment, the Age Of the Fall injured Mark Briscoe and they had to vacate the belts.  The night before this PPV was taped at Up For Grabs, the Age Of The Fall won a tag team tournament for the vacated belts and are the new ROH World Tag Team Champions.  Tonight will be their first defense vs. Bryan Danielson and Austin Aries.
