ROH DVD REVIEW - BATTLE FOR SUPREMACY 6.27.08

Bryan Danielson starts off the show backstage and says that his driving force right now is the ROH World Title.  He says nobody works harder than him, and I agree.  He says that tonight Erick Stevens is in his way.  Stevens got the best of him in their last match but tonight Danielson will prove why he deserves a title shot.

ROH DVD REVIEW - UP FOR GRABS - 6.6.08

This event features a Tag Tournament to crown new ROH Tag Team Champions, due to The Briscoes vacating their belts because of an injury to Mark Briscoe.

Bracket A:

Chris Hero and Adam Pearce w/Sweet N Sour Inc defeated Jigsaw and Ruckus.  Ruckus went for a kick, Hero blocked it and hit him with a Roaring Elbow, which advances SNS Inc to the Sem-finals.  Sweet N Sour Inc made Bobby Dempsey spend the match under the ring.  At one point, the ref was distracted an Jigsaw rolled him up and have him pinned for over 5 seconds but when the ref realized it, Pearce kicked out at 2.  Once again, the announcers mention that we are seeing a different Chris Hero, not more showboating, he is in ROH to win Championships.  It was an OK opener, I wish The Vulture Squad would’ve won because I like them better as a team.  There was not as much action as you’d except, it was more of a Peace/Hero style match.  After the match Eddie Kingston comes down to check on Ruckus, Jigsaw pushed him off of him, and Kingston goes after Jigsaw.  They were face to face talking mad shit finally, Jigsaw laps Kingston.  They brawled until Ruckus came to and broke them up.  Kingston tells Jigsaw, tomorrow night in Philly you are dead and leaves the ring.

FIP REVIEW - The Briscoes vs. Mad Man Pondo/Necro Butcher - FIP Tag Titles Bar Room Brawl - 4.21.07

Once in awhile FIP puts out something that I have to see.  I had heard good things about the Necro Butcher/Mad Man Pondo vs. Briscoes feud so I decided to check out one of the matches people talked most about.  The Bar Room Brawl for the FIP Tag Titles from International Impact Phase 2 on 4/21/07.

Necro Butcher and Pondo are coming out first, Pondo is wearing a Boondox shirts for all you Juggalos out there.  They have a ton of weapons.  Light tubes, chairs, signs.  One of the best parts about Necro is that he doesn’t wear any shoes.  He has a light tube in his hand waiting for the Briscoes (C.) to come out.  Here they come, Mark is playing his tag title like a guitar.  Briscoes hit the ring and the match is underway.  Necro and Jay are exchanging chops in the corner while Pondo and Mark battle on the outside.  Jay with a back drop on Necro.  He clotheslines Necro over the top to the floor.

DVD REVIEW - ROH RETURN ENGAGEMENT - 4.19.08

Chicago Ridge, IL

We open the show with a promo backstage by the Motor City Machine Guns.  They are talking about how their rematch with the Briscoes is one year in the making, and the question is who is the best tag team in the world.  They mention that the first word that comes to their minds when they think of the Briscoes is “redneck”.  Shelley says they are made in Detriot, and tonight they are winners.

Now they cut to the Briscoes for a promo.  Jay says last year when they beat the Machine Guns they proved they were the best tag team in the world.  And they will do it again tonight when they defeat them for a second time.

DVD REVIEW - FIP - Cage Of Pain - MATCH ONLY - 12.15.06

As I have said before on, I only have a few FIP DVDs.  Most of the events are in my opinion, one match shows.  Cage Of Pain looks to be in that category, so I am only going to review the match that I want to see, which is the main event, Cage Of Pain bout, pitting Black Market vs. The Heartbreak Express.  I am not familar at all with these two teams, but I heard that the match was absolutely insane.

DVD REVIEW - ROH Straight Shootin’ Series - CM Punk and Samoa Joe - 3.10.05

Before CM Punk was WWE Champion and Samoa Joe was TNA champion, they both are former ROH champions.  Samoa Joe held the title from March of 2003 until December 2004.  The summer before Punk left for WWE, he had a very nice run as ROH Champion.  The series of DVDs from those shows are known as the Summer Of Punk.  You can purchase them from www.rohwrestling.com
